Phoenix (Nov. 10, 2022) – Registration is now open for the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee 5K-9 Fun Run presented by PetSmart at azsuperbowl.com/5k9. The family- and pet-friendly event kicks off at 8 a.m. on January 7, 2023 at Riverview Park in Mesa, Ariz.
“We’re excited for the community to come together for a morning of healthy family fun and of course, including our four-legged friends in activities leading up to Super Bowl LVII is a highlight,” said Jay Parry, President and CEO of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee. “PetSmart is an amazing partner who shares our goals of leaving a positive imprint on the community, and helping locals make lifelong Super Bowl memories.”
Registration is $30 per person, and a portion of each registration will benefit PetSmart Charities, the country’s leading funder of animal welfare. Plus, two-legged participants receive a commemorative State Forty Eight T-shirt, along with a special bandana for four-legged participants. To register, visit azsuperbowl.com/5k9.

Participants and attendees will enjoy booths and activities at the start and finish of the race, including the PetSmart MVPets TAILgate experience, where pet parents can create a custom football player card with their pet’s photo, complete with a souvenir lanyard.
Pets will get the VIP treatment on race day with experiences and treats just for them, including:
- PetSmart Grooming booth to pamper your pet with a scent bar and bandanas
- PetSmart Dog Training booth with demos and agility platforms
- PetSmart Doggy Daycare and Pets Hotel booth with story time and dog-safe bubbles
- PetSmart Treats Loyalty booth for giveaways and instant Treats rewards
Local animal welfare organizations will also be onsite with adoptable pets, and additional activities including free custom-engraved pet tags from TagWorks for the first 800 pet parents to visit the booth, a pet-friendly photo booth, the Dog Park Bar, tasty food trucks and more.
