Host Committee Announces Partnership with Footprint

PHOENIX, ARIZ (October 13, 2022) – The Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee announces Footprint as an Official Partner. The partnership highlights the shared commitment to community and resident well-being and the goal of making this Super Bowl the greenest event to date.

Footprint, whose mission is to create a healthier planet and healthier people through the elimination of single-use plastics, is serving as an Official Green Partner of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee. With the support of NFL Green, the league’s environmental program, plans are in place to mitigate the environmental impact of Super Bowl LVII.

“Partnering with the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee will showcase the state as a hub for innovation and how events like the Super Bowl can be done with sustainability at the forefront,” Troy Swope, Footprint CEO and Co-Founder, said. “The Super Bowl and adjacent events will put our company on the international stage to show what’s possible beyond single-use plastics and give fans the opportunity to experience Footprint’s eco-friendly, plant-based products — demonstrating that people don’t have to sacrifice the environment to enjoy sporting and entertainment events.”

Footprint will partner with the Host Committee at events in the months leading up to the Super Bowl to enhance an eco-friendly fan experience with plant-based fiber products, such as plates and cups, and educational opportunities to learn about the importance of eliminating single-use plastics. These initiatives will create a lasting impact on Arizonans and encourage continuing sustainability efforts.

“The Host Committee is thrilled to partner with Footprint to bring innovation to our Super Bowl initiatives,” Jay Parry, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee said. “Footprint’s leadership and investment will help propel our efforts to create healthier communities and the greenest Super Bowl of all time.”
