NFL Teams Up with Host Committee, Verizon, APS, Footprint and Keep Tempe Beautiful

Tempe, AZ– (October 22, 2022) – NFL Green and the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee teamed up with Verizon, APS, Footprint, Keep Tempe Beautiful and the City of Tempe to plant trees at Corona del Sol High School in Tempe. On Saturday, October 22nd students joined Mayor Corey D. Woods, Superintendent Dr. Kevin J. Mendivil and community volunteers to plant shade trees. In all, 16 drought tolerant trees were planted. The trees will provide beauty, shade and cooling and help to increase the tree canopy in Tempe. The project is one of nearly a dozen community greening projects being implemented in the months leading up to Super Bowl LVII. Each year NFL Green works with local organizations to create a positive green legacy around the game by planting trees, building community gardens and restoring habitat.
